Prasonisi Light House: The location of Prasonisi in Rhodes - Rodos
Prasonisi is located 9 km southern of Kattavia village, the last village of the southern part of the island of Rhodes. A narrow sandy line of about a kilometre connects the island with the land, where on the small island there is the well-known Prasonisi lighthouse that seperates the bay in two parts, the eastern and the western sea.
In winter time this sandy line is covered by sea water and the part where the lighthouse is seems like a small island. In summer time the sandy line in the middle creates two sea sides: the eastern and the western. Depending on the winds on side of the sea is ruffled and the other is more tranquil.
So, the ruffled side is ideal for water-sports lovers and the other is ideal for families and for those who want to take their first steps in windsurfing.
